Miller, Suzanne LaRoe
Suzanne LaRoe Miller, 81, Lexington, died Saturday afternoon after a long illness. She was born in Cincinnati, OH, daughter of the late Mary Parshall and C. Warden LaRoe.
She attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York and worked as a French instructor, art gallery associate, and Vice President of CoachCraft, Inc., among other positions. She was an extremely active community volunteer, having served on various charitable boards, including The Volunteer Center, The Living Arts and Science Center, The Florence Crittenton Home, The Lexington Humane Society, and Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, among many others. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lexington, where she served as Horse Show Chair in 1965 and recently achieved Emeritus status after fifty years of service.
Until her illness, she was an active member of the Monday Club literary society and a former member of Christ Church Cathedral and St. Michael’s the Arch Angel Episcopal Church. Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, Donald J. Miller, Lexington; two daughters, Brooke Miller Scranton and Courtney Miller Rhorer (John R., Jr.), both of Lexington; and two grandchildren, Courtney Anne Wachs of Los Angeles, CA, and Whitney Suzanne Rhorer, Lexington.
A memorial service will be Thurs., 1:30 PM, Milward-Broadway followed by a private interment at Lexington Cemetery. Visitation, Wed., 5-8 PM. Contributions may be made to The Living Arts and Science Center or the Lexington Humane Society.
